Regular visitors to this blog will know that I’ve posted a lot of photos here of Varanasi in India – having stayed there for a few months this time last year. Well, now I’m going to turn my attention to another famous watery city – Venice. I’m here principally as a press photographer for this year’s carnival but that isn’t going to stop me from getting out and about taking pictures of the incredible city that in my opinion is like no other place on earth – well, except maybe Varanasi, as it does share a few similarities. It’s very historic; at certain times of the year it floods; I’m guaranteed to get lost in the maze of streets; the most popular thing to do is to take a boat ride through the city; and it’s like stepping into a theatre every day.
I’ve a feeling I’m going to feel right at home!
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I appreciate it and am glad that there is a willing audience for my Venetian pictures!
beautiful photos… well done.
Such an evocative scene. Just as if I am there in reality.
Gorgeous photos!!! I would really love to visit Venice one day x
What an interesting photo. I really expected this to be vertical and not horizontal.
