In a previous post I explained how colourful figures are painted onto houses in India when someone in the household marries. It looks like the last wedding took place a few years back in this Varanasi household. The drawings are slowly being rubbed away by time – which is a nice effect, especially with the different layers of paint also being visible.
It’s dying, the tradition and art of painting walls on weddings etc.
Like the art of wearing saris I guess. I’ll be sad to see it go.
Me too. But something can surely be done even now, to save the tradition that is good.
