I loved taking photographs of tea-making during my time in India – maybe because the chai wallahs seem able to turn just a simple act into such an atmospheric art form, in a totally unpretencious way.
It also brings back very fond memories as one of my favourite experiences was sipping a tiny cup of this brew on the streets of India while watching the daily drama of life around me; and maybe chatting to some friendly and curious folks at the same time. Who’d have thought that a 5 rupee purchase (less than 5p) could bring so much joy!
