For those who, after my previous post, are wondering who Steve McCurry is, I’m sharing this photo that I sneakily took at the reception desk of his exhibition in Siena. Yes that is the image of ‘The Afghan Girl’  in the background –  one of the most iconic photographs of the last century. I liked the juxtaposition between her and the girl at the ticket booth with the red scarf – but I know that my photograph would be nothing without McCurry’s iconic image staring at us with those famous green eyes!

Incidentally, thanks for the wonderful feedback on my musings in my last post – I felt quite moved by it – and won’t be hanging up my camera just yet!
