I think this woman’s eyes say it all – life can be tough when you have a heavy load to carry. But she was still kind enough to stop and pose for a photograph for me (which just about sums up the spirit of the people of Thanedhar!)

Wow this is a stunning portrait photo!
Thanks!
Seeing this, I had to look up where Thanedhar is. Next time I am in India, I will endeavour to visit it and think of this photo.
I’m glad I’ve done my bit to help promote the area! You should definitely visit as it’s lovely here, as is the lodge where I am staying: http://www.banjaracamps.com
Thank you – I’ve made a bookmark to remember it :-)
No problem!
great photo, her eyes are soft even though she carries a heavy burden. Love the colours too.
Yes, I think she was a lovely lady. Thanks for your feedback!
Your picture says so much. What character in her face!

A great capture, Eleanor, and perfect for the challenge.
Thanks!
I like how “the world through my eyes” can be flipped around in this photo. The persons face is really so beautiful, and I wonder if it is pure strain of the load, or the beginning of a tentative smile?
You’re right Bruce that is a trace of a smile. But that was all that she was prepared to give me!
This picture definitely works for me. Very personal. Very up close, clearly showing his effort at carrying this load. Good job here!
Thanks Nando, though I should point out that actually it is a woman in the photograph. Well, as I said, life is tough there….
BIG oops! Yeah, I guess so!
A look through and into eyes. Making the theme even more intriguing!
I’m glad you like it :-)
I like the story in the eyes, amazing.
