This was one of those split-second shots. I saw a woman in a vivid blue sari standing in a doorway that was framed by wonderful textures and colours of peeling paint. But the back of a child was blocking my view of her. I had a brief moment when the boy went inside before she followed, just in time to get this one picture. Fortunately I don’t think the fact that you can only see part of her actually detracts from the picture.
Thanks for the kind feedback folks – it’s really encouraging for me so I really appreciate it!
Wow…. Love this photo….
Lovely, great composition.
Lovely composition and the blue of her sari framed by the doorway is beautiful.
The sorrowful look on her face is made even more dramatic by her face being half hidden. Wonderful shot, Eleanor.

No, it doesn’t. What an excellent capture. Not just a good eye, a quick eye too.
could get lost in your blue!
I agree, the half-shot is what makes it especially wonderful. The colors and textures are outstanding as well. Nicely done!
I think that is what makes it so special. Beautiful shot.
